Diabetes in Pregnancy Community of Practice: Where are we now?

29th September 2-3pm

Hosted on Zoom

The Community of Practice

At the suggestion of various clinical teams, the Health Innovation Network helped convene the pan-London Diabetes in Pregnancy Community of Practice. Bringing together colleagues from across diabetes and maternity services, the community of practice is a self-governing collaborative network designed to improve care and services for women and babies affected by diabetes in pregnancy.

Our first meeting of the Community of Practice in June 2018 was fantastically well attended with over 50 colleagues from across the whole of London attending, and we have built on from that with each session since proving to be just as successful. We have representation from 20+ trusts from across the city as well as from academia, commissioners, the Clinical Networks and women and families with lived experience.

The focus and actions of the community is led by you as the participants, and so this is your chance to make a real impact in this area.

For more information about the previous sessions and our ongoing work please get in touch.

Where are we now?

Over the past 6 months, we have stepped down our Community of Practice in view of Coronavirus and the extraordinary strain placed on the NHS. After a few conversations with our core group of clinicians involved in the community we are looking to restart activities and readjust our focus so we can best support you and your colleagues through this time.

We are looking to host a 3-part virtual series through autumn to support the sharing of experiences, practice and learning in diabetes in pregnancy care.

This session is the first of the three and is designed to provide space for members of the community of practice to connect, have the space to reflect, share thoughts and ideas with colleagues and help answer the question; where do we go from here? Details for the call including an agenda to follow.

Future sessions:

2. Screening for GDM - share practice and lessons on screening for gestational diabetes through coronavirus incl. findings from our pan-London survey: October (date tbc)

3. Virtual Working - share learning from virtual working including using GDm-Health and remote consultations: November (date tbc)

Looking forward to hearing from you,
