Patient Safety Awards 2017 shortlist
The Health Innovation Network’s initiative on Reducing Harm from Urinary Catheters: A Collaborative Approach in South London has been shortlisted in the ‘Infection Prevention Control in Patient Safety’ category at this year’s Patient Safety Awards.
Last year’s Catheter Care Awareness Week which ran from 20 – 24 June saw our Patient Safety team work hard in championing better care with the aim of and reducing catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) by 30% by January 2017.
With a huge range of informative material from a short animation which was created in partnership with Age UK, the campaign was a success at raising general awareness about catheter problems and to enhance clinicians’ knowledge, as well as encouraging people and organisations to get involved with the project. Read more about the campaign here and you can see here impact it had in numbers.
Good luck to our Patient Safety Team!
