Valuing Patient Safety in South London

The Health Innovation Network hosted Valuing Patient Safety in South London, on 28 February, a highly interactive networking event for our Patient Safety Collaborative.

The objective of the event was to provide a safe and supportive networking environment for patient safety professionals from all backgrounds and sectors across south London. Delegates were asked to identify challenges they face in their role, the personal importance of those challenges, and what made a difference to them. These discussions highlighted five key themes which shaped the rest of the event: resources, sharing knowledge, joining up the system, support for staff, and patient centred care.

Suzette Woodward, Campaign Director of Sign up to Safety, was the events compelling keynote speaker. Sign up to Safety is a national campaign, and Suzette gave the collaborative fantastic insight on focusing, presenting and tackling challenges in a practical way. Delegates commented on the invaluable networking experience and asked the team to keep the events going. We are encouraging anyone interested in patient safety to join our online patient safety collaborative group, to ensure that the learning, great thoughts and conversations continue beyond the event.
