Capacity Building

Capacity Building helps enable the health and social care system to deliver world class patient care in challenging times. We do this by supporting innovation, through workforce development and working alongside members to address the capacity challenges identified by the Sustainability and Transformation Plans.

The programme contributes to the HIN objectives of supporting innovation, and enabling spread and adoption so that new ways of working can be speedily implemented. The spread, adoption and implementation drive includes supporting Health Innovation Network’s clinical themes to increase the uptake of their models of care, and support to STPs as they implement their transformation plans.

The health and social care system also requires innovative ways to build capacity within the workforce. The Graduates into Health programme links students and graduates from universities to NHS managers who are recruiting to business functions within their teams at entry level roles.
