Applications for the third and final round of Mindset-XR funding opens on 04 November 2024.
To support applicants there will be an online briefing on 29 October from 10.00 - 11.00 which will provide details of the Mindset programme, competition scope, eligibility and the application process for UK organisations. Innovate UK will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the competition.
On 12 November from 10.00 - 11.00 there will also be an Online Collaboration Building Workshop where potential applicants will get the opportunity to network with other innovators and experts across the immersive technology and mental health sectors.
Both of these events are free.

SBRI Healthcare competition 27: Work-related digital innovations for individuals with poor mental health
This competition is open to innovations at any stage of development, from testing technical and commercial feasibility to generating evidence in real world settings and applicants can apply for up to £200,000 (NET, excluding VAT) for up to 12 months.
The competition focuses on the following areas:

Digital interventions targeting work-related risk factors facing working age population (aged 16-64) with mental health problems in employment, that provide rapid support to individuals to help them remain in work

Digital interventions that specifically tackle barriers to work facing unemployed working age individuals (aged 16-64) with mental health problems, to support individuals to return to work or gain employment
-
Digital interventions targeting workplace issues/barriers facing working age population (aged 16-64) from disadvantaged communities with mental health problems, to support individuals attain, remain or return to work

Apply for the MedTech Accelerator: Rapid Regulatory Support Fund
This programme will support SMEs that rely on external expertise to commercialise new products or re-register existing products in line with new regulatory requirements. SMEs working in MedTech can apply for funding for use with regulatory affairs providers to help with navigating regulatory pathways.
There is a total of £4.2m Innovate UK investment, with projects to be awarded up to £30,000 per UK SME.
Applications are now open and will close on Thursday 31 October at midday. However, please note that once 300 applications have been received the application process will close.

The UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme
This government-backed initiative has been set up to help UK tech firms grow in the Asia Pacific region, de-risking and accelerating the growth of the sector. The Programme provides support for UK firms to expand in 11 APAC markets: Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.

We Are Creative have introduced the Creative Enterprise Business Builder, a grant initiative designed to support companies who work in moving image for storytelling, spanning film television, games, animation and immersive industries. With grants of up to £2,500, beneficiaries will be able to work with a consultant to build meaningful connections and create opportunities for business growth.

Invest 2035: The UK's Modern Industrial Strategy
The Government has today published a green paper setting out its modern Industrial Strategy which will focus on advanced manufacturing; clean energy industries, creative industries; defence; digital and technologies; financial services; life sciences; and professional and business services.
There will now follow a consultation period before the final strategy is published in spring 2025, alongside the multi-year Spending Review

UK Government to set up new Regulatory Innovation Office
The Department of Science, Innovation and Technology has announced the launch of a new Regulatory Innovation Office (RIO) to speed up public access to new technologies that will improve our daily lives.
The RIO will support regulators to update regulation, speeding up approvals, and ensuring different regulatory bodies work together smoothly, and is currently looking for a Chair to lead the work of this new Office.

The BFI London Film Festival
