The Health Innovation Network (HIN) South London is now inviting registrations for its General Practice Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (GP PSIRF) Programme.
This is a unique opportunity to get ahead of upcoming changes, help shape how PSIRF works in general practice, and strengthen patient safety in your organisation — all with fully funded expert support.
Who can join this programme?
We welcome participants from across the primary care system, including:
- GP practices.
- Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
- GP Federations.
- Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
What the programme offers
This free programme (July 2026 – March 2027) provides hands-on support to help you embed PSIRF and drive meaningful improvement in your practice or network. You will receive:
- Interactive learning sessions – build practical skills to improve patient safety, staff experience, and patient outcomes.
- Peer learning and networking – learn from real examples and connect with colleagues across England.
- Tailored expert support – work with improvement specialists to strengthen your local systems.
Insights from national experts – hear directly from NHS and regulatory leaders. - A chance to influence the future – share feedback to shape how PSIRF is implemented across general practice nationally.
Why join the programme?
PSIRF represents a significant shift in how the NHS approaches patient safety — moving away from blame and towards learning, improvement, and compassionate engagement. While not yet mandatory for general practice, the HIN South London is working closely with NHS England to design and test a version of PSIRF tailored specifically for primary care. By joining today, you will:
- Be ahead of future national requirements.
- Build a more open, proactive safety culture.
- Gain practical tools to reduce avoidable harm and improve outcomes.
- Help shape future national rollout for general practice.
Be part of the change
This is more than a programme — it’s a chance to lead the transformation of patient safety in general practice. Join a growing community of teams who are creating safer, more transparent, and learning-focused care systems today.
Registering by the 7th July 2026 will give you the greatest level of support.
