Innovation for Healthcare Inequalities Programme (InHIP): Maternity

The InHIP maternity project aims to implement placental growth factor (PlGF) testing at Croydon University Hospital maternity unit and to improve access to risk management of high blood pressure throughout the maternity pathway.

Project overview

Pre-eclampsia affects around 3% of all pregnancies and is a significant cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. This project aims to improve the co-ordinated care and clinical management of pregnant women and birthing people who are at risk of developing pre-eclampsia through increased use of placental growth factor testing.

This project will also include a pilot home blood pressure monitoring service for pregnant women and birthing people with raised PIGF.
