London Mental Health Online and ADHD Virtual Assessment to Treatment Discovery Programme
Background
The Health Innovation Network South London (HIN) is working in partnership with NHSE London, Health Innovation ICHP, UCLP and Transformation Partners in Health and Care to inform a new proof-of-concept discovery programme: the discovery phase of a Mental Health Online and ADHD Virtual Assessment-to-Treatment for London.
This strategic digital investment is aligned with national priorities on access, prevention, productivity, and equity, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, London Mental Health Strategy, NHS Digital Transformation Roadmap, and the 10-Year Health Plan.
What is ADHD?
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition. Symptoms typically begin in childhood and frequently persist into adolescence and adulthood, although they may change as people age. ADHD is associated with an increased risk of co-occurring mental health conditions and poorer long-term outcomes.
Timely recognition, needs-led support, assessment and needs-led treatment and/or support provide an opportunity to improve outcomes for both children and adults.
