Overview

To fast track the best proven innovations to patients, we provided support for national innovation adoption schemes in south London:

Innovation and Technology Payment (ITP)

We work with a wide range of stakeholders, including NHS England, trusts and industry partners, to support effective adoption in line with local population needs.

Case Study

Improving access to asthma biologics

The challenge

New treatments for severe and uncontrolled asthma, known as biologics, have the potential to significantly reduce exacerbations and deaths. However, early adoption was slow, leaving many eligible patients without access.

Solution

We supported pathway improvements, including proactive searches to identify people with ‘hidden’ severe asthma. We also developed education and implementation materials and worked with national and local partners to increase appropriate access to biologics.
